Meryl Gashi Photography – Website Relaunch

About Meryl Gashi Photography

Meryl Gashi is an international wedding photographer based in Aarau, Switzerland. Since 2013 she has photographed more than 250 couples across three continents – from intimate elopements in the Swiss Alps to destination weddings on the Amalfi Coast. Her work has been published in Vogue and Brides. Her style: timeless, elegant and authentic.

Background and Project Goal

The previous website no longer lived up to that standard. The design did not match the quality of her images, the site was hard to use on smartphones, and Meryl could not update galleries or add new posts herself. The goal of the relaunch was a presence that puts her photography centre stage, speaks to international couples in their language and can be updated without outside help.

Implementation: Relaunch 2026 – concept, web design and development by Swissware IT.

Operations: Hosting, updates and support by Swissware IT.

What We Delivered

A Design That Lets the Images Lead

Consistent black and white, generous image areas and elegant serif typography: the web design deliberately steps back and lets Meryl’s photography speak. Parallax effects, subtle fade-ins and a centred navigation with the monogram in the middle create a calm, premium experience – true to the promise of «Timeless Luxury».

Bilingual for International Couples

Many couples plan their wedding abroad or travel to Switzerland to get married. The website is therefore fully available in German and English – with a language switch right in the navigation.

Trust Through 101 Five-Star Reviews

Genuine voices are more convincing than any marketing copy. The Google reviews are embedded directly on the homepage – as an elegant slider in the site’s style, with the overall rating and a link to all 101 reviews.

Instagram Feed and Journal

An Instagram strip in the footer keeps showing new work without Meryl having to touch the website. In the journal she shares wedding tips and stories – a section that inspires couples and builds visibility on Google at the same time.

Search Engine Optimisation

Page structure, headings and metadata are aligned with searches such as «wedding photographer Aarau» or «wedding photography Switzerland». Couples find Meryl where they are looking.

Independent Content Management

Meryl now manages galleries, wedding stories and journal posts herself. We trained her specifically for this – independence rather than reliance on a service provider.

Perfect on Smartphones

Today, couples usually discover their photographer on their phone – often straight from Instagram. The website is therefore optimised for every screen size: adapted image crops, a compact navigation and highly legible typography preserve the visual impact on small screens too.
